When I first told my friends that I was heading to Puerto Rico, they regaled me with the most interesting tales about the local customs—and by local customs, I'm referring to how guys cruise other guys, all over the island. Of course, "none of them" actually participated first-hand (wink-wink), but they sure knew plenty of details.
So I started researching. I scoured the web—English sites, Spanish sites. I compiled one heck of a "must-see" list to keep me entertained as I settled into my first month in Puerto Rico.
Once unpacked, I quickly learned that my online information—most likely contributed by retirees thinking back fondly for their wayward youth—was SO out of date that it was actually dangerous. Luckily, my local friends were on hand to set me, um, straight.
Now, unless your goal is to communicate to your new friends that you're a slutty whore, it's probably best to read my guide instead of flat-out asking them for details. Few will admit to knowing it. Yet everyone does.
